You definitely need to a live Oscar show because I will have nothing else to watch thanks to the writer strike. Not that I don’t empathize with them wanting money from DVD sales but come on-I NEED my digital entertainment!

As an aside, doesn’t it make more sense for Across the Universe to be up for Art Direction instead of Costuming?

And I’d like to point out that the Academy is starting a tradition of making sure one of the worst movies of the year finds a way to get a nomination still. Joining 2006’s Click, Norbit is up for best makeup.

I honestly think that the Enchanted vote will cancel itself out and Falling Slowly will take it’s place as best song among other notable winners like It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp. Seriously, I’m just psyched, that I’ll get to watch Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova perform it live. Again, that’s if the strike doesn’t kill the ceremony. Then you’d be stuck with Barry and I trying to sing it and believe me, NOBODY wants that.

As for Salivate, those arses up at the Academy apparently won’t recognize genius in advance. They will rue the day, though.

the absense of Zodiac definitely hurts, but this is definitely the best list I’ve seen in years. I’m amazed that there’s not a total stinker in the animated category for once and speaking of Once, I hope it doesn’t get smoked out by Enchanted, which only deserved one song anyway.

The Cate Blanchett nominee for Elizabeth seems overkill,(although her performance in I’m Not There us well deserved) but I’m really excited about the best supporting actor nominees (all great performances) and glad Affleck got recognized. Too bad about Gone Baby Gone though. I also don’t like Johnny Greenwood getting dumped for a stupid score like Atonement- because his experimental work in There Will Be Blood is phenomenal. Beowulf had a better score than that.

and where’s Salivate??!! Best upcoming movie about drooling vampires..and herpes.

Savages got a well deserved nod too. Juno and Atonement should hit the *#king bricks- get the heck out of the Best Film category!!
