StarFest Guest Update: Cliff Simon and Zachary Quinto Confirmed!

The good folks over at StarLand have been working their tails off trying to confirm guests for StarFest '08.  I can only imagine that the strike has wrecked havoc with who they're trying to get.  I'm guessing that some invited guests are still finding out if their respective shows will be going into production soon, so that accounts for the difficulty in nailing down guests, but we've got two more confirmed!

Cliff Simon has built a cult following playing Ba'al in the sci-fi series Stargate SG-1 and has been an Olympic qualifying swimmer and a national gymnast in South Africa.

Zachary Quinto has become most well known for inhabiting one of the best villain's of this generation in Sylar on t

he popular NBC series Heroes.  Apparently not one to be typecast, he is also playing a young Spock in the highly anticipated new Star Trek film due out in 2009.

As one of the organizers behind Horrorfest (which I'll be talking about in a post in the near future) put it best, the guests are a great part of StarFest.  It isn't the only reason to go, however.  The amount of detail that convention-goers put into their costumes, the great panels, the glorious dealer room and all the movies/tv that they show are the real reason to go.  If you've never been to a sci-fi convention, StarFest is a great place to make your first.

As with the previous announcement of guests, just because we say they're coming doesn't mean we'll have an opportunity to interview them.  We're going to do our best to talk to everyone we can, but schedules will likely conflict so we won't get to talk to everyone.  This year's StarFest is definitely looking to be one of the best in recent years.
