Starfest Report: Adam Baldwin Q&A
We’ve still got some stuff to put up from Starfest. I’m transcribing and interview we had with the guys over at Random Creature Face Films and director Richard Taylor. Today, I’m finally posting a report we got from our good friend Jeff. Jeff got to sit in on Adam Baldwin’s Q&A, and it’s a fun read. I can vouch that the guy you see in interviews is the same off camera/mic. Enjoy!
During Starfest 2008, Adam Baldwin spent an hour talking with his fans and answering questions. I have been to several of these questions and answer times at starfest and for me Adam Baldwin was at the top of list. He was very personal, very honest and his humble demeanor was refreshing. He started out by introducing himself, not that he needed to, but he did not assume everyone should know who he is. He took a couple of minutes giving a brief bio and then started answering questions. He answered questions about Chuck, My Bodyguard, Independence Day and others, but as you can guess, the most popular questions were about his role as Jayne in Firefly.
Starfest Report: Nichelle Nichols Interview
I love the fact that we try to make sure that we don’t ask people the same things they always get asked. Sometimes, you end up getting some truly special stories. This interview brought us the story of how Nichelle Nichols ended up dancing for Duke Ellington. It’s a great story and both Barry and I sat in front of her just enjoying her story. We hope you enjoy it as well.
Starfest Report: Interview With Anne Lockhart
Known best to most as Sheba in the original Battlestar Galactica, Anne Lockhart has a truly impressive resume that spans decades. If you loved cool TV in the 70’s and 80’s, chances are that she was on that show at some point. Even more interesting, though, is her career in voiceover work. She was a joy to talk to and we’re very pleased to present our interview now.
Starfest Report: Interview with Ford Austin, Simon Burzynskyi and Jed Rowen
The Horrorfest portion of Starfest really proved to be a treat this year. We got to discover some really unique independant horror, and now we also get to what was undoubtedly the most fun interview we did all weekend. We weren’t able to do this interview until after we had already torn down the main equipment, so the audio on this one isn’t the best, but could be worse as well. Attitude For Destruction director Ford Austin and stars Simon Burzynski and Jed Rowen talked in a mostly secluded hall with us and we really had a blast.
Edit: I’ve fixed the chipmunk effect in the audio. It now has 95% less suck! The other 5% is for the fact that I didn’t get to interview these guys on the good equipment. I hope you still like it!
Starfest Report: Adam Baldwin Interview
One of the many great treats we had at Starfest ‘08 was being able to sit down and talk with the Hero of Canton, NSA agent John Casey himself, Adam Baldwin! It was an honor to talk with Mr. Baldwin and we talked about quite a broad spectrum of his career. He even caught me BS’ing at the end of the interview. I left it in just because it’s funny. Enjoy! There is a transcript of the interview after the jump. For more information on the charity that Mr. Baldwin is working with, please click the related links below.

Jonja.net Posts Their Interview With Nana Visitor
I’m very pleased to post the final part of the interviews that Nana Visitor did at Starfest last weekend. It’s a fun interview and different from the one we posted as well as the one from I-Sci-Fi.tv.
Dave’s Review: The Pit and the Pendulum
In order to try to keep our own hype-machine for The Pit and the Pendulum under control, I decided I need to write a review where I can rant and rave about how much I love this short and then I can spend the rest of my time talking it up and urging to people to see it in a bit of a more relaxed, not-so-fanatical way. The short version? It’s absolutely brilliant and needs to be seen by everyone. Now, on to a reivew with a little more depth to it…
Starfest Report - Interview With Marc Lougee
There are times when I’m really excited about a film. I get excited to the point that I start to worry that I may be hyping everyone’s expectations too high. It happened with me and Forrest Gump. Everyone talked it up to the point that there was no way it could live up to my expectations. The Pit and the Pendulum has the potential to have the same thing happen because of how much I loved it. It’s looking like it will be releasing in June on DVD. All I will say about it (until my review) is that it’s good…real good.
Marc Lougee came to the Horrorfest portion of Starfest and screened the film right during when we were supposed to be doing another interview. I was pretty bummed that we were going to miss it, but Mr. Lougee was kind enough to bring it up to where all the press sites were and show it to us. We then sat down with him for just over 18 minutes talking with him. We probably could have spent another hour, but we didn’t want to monopolize his time. We really had a good time with the interview.
I-Sci-Fi Posts Nana Visitor Interview
We really had a great time at Starfest this past weekend. So far, I’ve posted interviews with Nana Visitor, Zachary Quinto and I’ll be putting up a talk we had with Pit and the Pendulum director/creative producer Marc Lougee.
One part of the fun was getting to meet folks from I-Sci-Fi and more people from Jonja.net. For many of the Starfest guests, we all had a chance to talk to them. I got to sit in on all of them and be the sound engineer. The exciting thing is that we all got different interviews from the same people. Unlike when you see the same interview on several shows and it’s the same one every time, all of our interview could fit together like one long interview with very little repeated info/stories.
As these sites get their interviews up, we’ll be linking to them so you can get a more complete experience. Today, I-Sci-Fi put up their chat with Nana Visitor, and it’s well worth listening too. I’ll put up Jonja’s when they finish all their editing as well. Enjoy!
Starfest Report: Interview With Zachary Quinto
Sometimes, interviews come together literally at the last minute. Our opportunity to talk with Zachary Quinto (Heroes, Star Trek) came together in just that way. Immediately after our interview with Nichelle Nichols, Mr. Quinto became briefly available to do interviews. We’re very grateful that Mr. Quinto took the time out of his busy schedule in his limited time at Starfest to talk with us.
